Zach Suggs (b. 1988) grew up with a heart that roamed elsewhere; rambling trips with friends growing up became earnest searches for a place to call home out west. Each time he left, Zach found himself tethered back to the Southeast, coming to see his roots with new eyes over time and discovering a rich creative community there.
Zach has partnered with brands and agencies such as Brains on Fire, Hodgman Waders, Great Outdoor Adventure Trips, BF Goodrich, Shakespeare Fishing and Abu Garcia. Since 2017, he has worked closely with the BMW Car Club of America Foundation archiving BMW’s automotive history through exhibition catalogues of three award-winning CCA Foundation Museum exhibitions. He photographed musician Nikki Lane for a limited edition picture disc vinyl for her ‘Highway Queen’ album. Most recently, his work was selected for the SE Center for Photography’s exhibition, “Home 2019”.
Through his photographic work, Zach studies exploration and belonging. With keen curiosity for the natural world and those whom traverse it, he uses the camera as a tool to explore how people move through their environments. He sees and reveals unseen moments and the hope found there.
